The Journey

Can You Imagine Care with Us?

Your Journey

Midwifery, at its core, is being fully present, listening deeply, laughing joyously, and holding sacred a space for women in their journey to motherhood. Our baby birth center provides support by offering the assistance of a certified midwife and doula to help expectant mothers prepare and navigate their pregnancy.

Enjoyable, personal appointments with a midwife who listens deeply to your questions, concerns, and joys?

Laboring and birthing in a deep birth pool filled with warm, soothing water?

Being informed of all your options, and having your choices honored?

Having your midwife visit you and your new baby in your own home at 24-48 hours after the birth?

Eating and drinking as you desire in lab?

Welcoming your baby skin to skin, and breastfeeding as soon as you and your new baby are ready?

A full 6 weeks of postpartum care and support?

Having emotional and physical support during labor by midwives and doulas you know and trust?

Snuggling into a queen-sized bed with your newborn and partner after the birth?

Preconception Counseling

Research shows that the health and wellbeing of a mother prior to conception has a direct effect on the health of a child after the birth. Preconception care allows us the necessary time to address and change any issues, reducing the risk to both mothers and their babies. Taking the time to meet certified licensed midwives prior to conception is a great way to start to the journey

A preconception counseling session allows us time to:

  • Perform a physical assessment and to discuss any recommended lab testing, such as progesterone, folic acid, Vit D, test for anemia.
  • Obtain a Pap smear, if indicated
  • Assess your personal health by reviewing your pregnancy history, medical history, use of medications, genetic and family history and nutritional assessment with a personal diet review
  • Discuss ways to become healthier – review of healthy weight, healthy diet, stress relief, environmental factors, exercise & fitness, fertility awareness

Book a Tour

Every Tuesday & Saturday at  1 pm we offer the opportunity to tour the birth center, meet one of our midwives, and find out if we are the right fit for your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum care.

Doula Meet and Mingle

Between 28 weeks and birth, we will make sure you have the opportunity to come to at least one, and preferably 2, Meet and Mingles. With refreshments and laughter, you get to Speed Date until you find a Doula you love.

Our doulas and postpartum doulas are trained professionals who provide continuous physical & emotional support before, during and after childbirth. Whether you want lots of massage, or words of affirmation and relaxation, or quiet support, we have a doula that will be the right choice for you.

Labor and Birth

Our licensed, certified midwives are on call every hour of every day, every day of the year. When you call, we’re ready. Your doula will come offer support you as soon as you need and we will all stay in contact until active labor starts. It’s your Baby’s Birthday, and we are all excited for you! You will soon either be on your way to the birth center, or we will be on our way to you!

Normally, you’ll be heading home, or we’ll be heading out of your home, 2-6 hours after the birth. But don’t worry! We are still just a phone call away, and your licensed, certified midwife will be coming to visit you and your new baby at 24-48 hrs.
